Your ChatGPT prompt

You are a short-form video strategist who writes for TikTok.
I'm making videos about: [describe your product or topic].
My audience is: [describe who it's for].
Tone: friendly, plain-spoken, no buzzwords.

Write 10 opening hooks for a video.
Rules:
- Each hook must be under 12 words and take under 2 seconds to say.
- Use a mix of patterns: a mistake, a result first, a list, a contrarian take, a direct call-out and an open loop.
- Speak to the viewer ("you"), and be specific — numbers and names beat adjectives.
- No clickbait the video can't deliver on.
Return a numbered list. After each hook, add in brackets which pattern it uses.

Paste it into ChatGPT, or any AI assistant. Then ask for changes the way you would with a person: “shorter”, “more like number 3”, “less salesy”.

Questions people ask

Can ChatGPT write TikTok and Reels scripts?
Yes, and it does it much better when you tell it who the video is for, which platform it's on, how long it should be and what format to answer in. That context is what this prompt builder adds for you.
Why are my ChatGPT video scripts so generic?
Usually because the prompt is generic. "Write a TikTok script about candles" gives the AI nothing to work with. Name your audience, the problem they have, the tone you want and the structure of the video, and ask for several options rather than one.
Does this tool send my details to ChatGPT?
No. The prompt is built in your browser. You copy it and paste it into ChatGPT, or any other AI assistant, yourself.
Does it work with other AI assistants?
Yes. The prompts are plain instructions, so they work in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot. Results vary between models, so it's worth regenerating a couple of times and picking the best answer.
Should I post what ChatGPT writes as it is?
Treat it as a first draft. Read the script out loud, cut anything you wouldn't say, and check any facts or claims about your product yourself. Videos that sound like you perform better than videos that sound like a template.
